X-tra Bench Competition

Well, I made it in the Acxiom "X-tra Bench" weight lifting competition this year! Out of 14 contestants, I placed 4th ( lifting 185 pounds 24 times ).

The "X-tra Bench" is a competition that consists of how many times you can lift 185 pounds on a flat bench. This competition is the little brother to the "Big 10" competition, which is how many times you can lift 225 pounds. Possibly next year I will be able to compete and/or place in the "Big 10".

The above group picture is a snapshot of the top 10 places in the competition ( only 8 people showed up for the picture ).

Easter in Nashville

This Easter we invested time with Andrea's Paternal Aunt and Grandparents in Nashville, TN.

They are packing and renovating their house with the intent to move in the near future. Andrea and I helped them with various small projects around the house while, at the same time, investing some good quality time with them.

In addition, Andrea, Carole, Pawi, and Moni tackled part of the massive Hall scrapbook. While we were there, additional pictures were found, scanned, and processed. This project combines a lot of pictures, history gathering, and organization. Once it is completed, it will be a great family heritage that will be appreciated for many generations to come.

We had an encouraging Easter morning service at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ, which just so happens to be the same church building where Andrea and I got married 5 years ago.

3rd Prenatal Visit

Today was our 3rd prenatal trip to the doctor.

Andrea has gained 3 pounds since she has become pregnant. Previously she actually lost weight due to her bout with morning, noon, and evening sickness.

Our baby's heartbeat was taken again this trip. This time, I made sure to have a recording device with me. The trick was deciding which of the 4 devices I was going to use :) Our baby's heartbeat was pumping at a steady pace of 150 bps. If you wish, listen to the heartbeat for yourself.

Another exciting part of the visit was the scheduling of our next ultrasound appointment. This coming visit will hopefully reveal the gender of our baby... that is if he or she cooperates. Our ultrasound appointment will be April 11th, 2005. Needless to say, we are very excited!

Wye Moutain Daffodil Festival

Today was a great day to get out and be in God's beautiful creation.

We drove to Wye Mountain to a little country church, Wye Moutain United Methodist Church, that hosts an informal local festival every year. The church's landscape is a great place to take spring pictures and bring home some daffodils ($1 per dozen). The sales of the daffodils pay the minster's salary.

We met up with the Siegels and the Chapins and took turns taking pictures of eachother.

To get to Wye Mountain take Arkansas Highway 113, north of Arkansas Highway 10 (travel west on Highway 10 from Little Rock and turn north on 113 at the upper end of Lake Maumelle) and follow the signs.

See the following Wye Mountain Yahoo! Photo Album for more pictures.
